SPORTONE PARKVIEW FIELDHOUSE
Project Description
Constructing $21 million worth of youth sports facilities on a piece of ground deemed nearly unmarketable might seem illogical in a down economy, but RCI Develpment took the chance…and boy, did it pay off!
In 2008, during the development process for what is now Lutheran SportsCenter, local and regional volleyball enthusiasts approached RCI about constructing a facility for their favorite sport. So as not to display any partiality toward hockey, the team once again accepted the challenge. With the experience of building their first sports facility already under their belts, word of the successful completion of this second such project spread around the country and earned RCI the reputation of being the “go-to guys” for developing area sports venues. The 57,500 square foot complex boasts eight indoor volleyball courts, four outdoor sand courts, and six basketball courts. Naming rights to the facility were once again sold and SportOne Parkview Fieldhouse officially opened its doors in January 2013. This multi-use facility has been professionally designed to be a premier indoor sports destination for regional competitions, leagues, tournaments and camps. It offers a full service bar and grill called Jimmy’s, fondly named after the late Jim Wilhelm, one of RCI’s founding partners. The upper level of the building serves as the proud home to the highly respected AWP Sports (Athletes With Purpose), whose mission is to serve athletes with professional sports training, partnered with character development and Christian values.
SportOne Parkview Fieldhouse is located off Lima Road across from Glenbrook Commons at 3946 Ice Way Drive.
